My Very First Valentine's Date EVER!!!

So Brian and I have been dating for about 7 months now and I was very much looking forward to my first Valentine's date E-V-E-R! You see in the past, I've started dating someone in January. Note to self, never start dating someone in January, because either 1) there's a lot of pressure for that first Valentine's day, what to do, what to say, how much to do, etc or 2) they break up with you right before Valentine's Day or in my case on the day of. I just don't recommend it. Start dating February 15th or later! haha

So anyway, this year I was excited. I told Brian that if he was going to break up with me, just do it and get it over with because I'm used to it by now, but he was pretty sure he still wanted to date me through this dreaded holiday! haha So about a week before we got to talking about Valentine's gifts. Brian was like gifts? I didn't know I had to get you a gift. I said, well I got you one. He was like, no no no.....why would you get me a gift? I said, well I love buying gifts for people and holidays just gives me an excuse! :-) He's like, I've never bought a Valentine's gift. I said, well what did you get for your last girlfriend. He said, flowers, but you don't like flowers. I said, you're right, try again. He was like, well I was just going to get you one of those big hershey kisses. I said, that's a good start but don't stop there. :-) He said, that's where I was planning on stopping. He said, you have my love and devotion. That should be enough. I said, actually you haven't said I love you, so really I just have your devotion at this point! He was like, well that should be enough. I said, well I want a gift! haha I said, it's my first Valentine's Day. I want it to be special. So I gave him some ideas that he was mentally taking down.

We decided to go to Jonah's Seafood house in Peoria. Brian isn't exactly a planner so I help him out a little and make the reservations so we actually have places to go on special occasions! haha We got there and they sat us by the window. He said, I love where were sitting! Do you think this is because of Valentine's Day? I said, no probably because I set up this reservation like a month ago! haha

We had a great time! My fish unfortunately was almost cold when it came out, so I didn't eat much so we decided to take it home. I however quickly dumped it down Brian's leg as we walked out of the restaurant. I had to laugh at his shocked face as he was still holding the to go container in his hand and it was hanging open with the potatoes fully intact and my fish laying on the ground. :-)

Brian would kill me if he knew I posted this. He made me take other photos after we left so he could Facebook approve them! :-)

We couldn't get the full sign in the picture, so we settled for it at least saying Oyster Bar above our heads! :-)

I like this one, but.......

Brian likes this one. Apparently, he likes more of his face showing! :-)

He doesn't think he takes good photos, so he made me take pictures of him till we got a good one. After about 6 tries, this is what we came up with. Oh my Valentine! haha

Tara! Brian seems like a really descent and great man! I am so happy for you! - and him!! :) I liked the "my love and devotion should be enough". Really, I guess it should be, but somehow society has made most of us want a little more pampering! Glad your 1st Valentine evening was a success - and no breakup!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! xoxo

Whoot! Whoot! Great job, Bro-guy! I'm impressed. Looks like a good time...you know, this is MUCH better than having your wimpy cousin come over for a "drink" only to pass out after 4 sips.
